Refrigerator smart upgrade proposal

By experience of CX, we suggest the smart upgrade by three phases: 

Good; 

Better; 

Best.

Then we can know step by step the local internet support (hardware, professional team, online contents etc) and users habits, at reasonable cost and time efficiency for data collection.

1. Good:

In this phase, there is no screen on refrigerator but we need develop the mobile phone App. All refrigerator data (working & failure situation, food management etc) will connect to the App by WiFi module, then to the server of the refrigerator manufacturer.

Advantages:

It is easy for existing refrigerator upgrade as only need upgrade the main control board, add board for data collection, WiFi module for connection and mobile phone App, low cost with quick process;

Knowing better working situation of the refrigerator and its failure reasons, help manufacturer lower the cost of after sales services;

The mobile phone App does the same job as refrigerator screen and still the manufacturer can put advertisement, cooking menu (even video) etc on it, all these bring benefits to the manufacturer. App UI example as following:

The user has an account and he/she can publish menus, collect & record menus, follow famous chefs, also raise questions easier to the manufacturer’s service center.

All data and user habits bring benefits to manufacturer and also good for the user to continue buy the same brand for next product (same App, same account).

By this phase, we will know better our users and start our own ecosystem which is helpful for phases after.

2. Better:

In this phase, there will be small screen (4” or 7”, can be touch panel) on refrigerator to display the refrigerator working situation, make food management, advertisement etc. App will work at same time.

3. Best:

There will be big screen on refrigerator with right data and channels we already know from users like cooking menu, online shopping, video, news & music etc. We will have right number and cost evaluation to get these from contents suppliers, also the right commission from users online shopping. App will continue work at same time.
